The purpose of National Night Out is to help inform our neighbors about various community programs
that are available. National Night out has proven to be an effective, inexpensive and enjoyable
program to promote neighborhood spirit and strengthen community partnerships in our fight for a safer
nation. The Community Watch Organization of Beacon will be hosting the sixth Annual Block Party in
Memorial Park. Last year over 3,000 people attended this event. We are pleased to announce our
major sponsors will be the Beacon Elks Club, Target and BJ's Wholesale Club.
We will be joining over 37 million people from over 10,000 communities across America that night.
During our event we are pleased to be able to provide FREE of charge to anyone who may wish hot
dogs, corn on the cob, popcorn, water melon, drinks, as well as entertainment. Once again this year
Lucky Orphans will be attended to provide free pony rides. In an effort to make this night even more
enjoyable we are inviting your organization to set up a table and share your information. As you
prepare for this event please keep in mind it is our long standing policy that no items may be sold or
donations collected during our event. We know your group will continue to support our efforts to allow
neighbors to leave their wallets at home and enjoy this wonderful time.
Please make sure to complete the registration form enclosed with this letter to reserve your spot at
National Night Out. You will need to bring your own table and chairs to the event. If your
organization is unable to set a table perhaps you will consider sending a few volunteers to help out.
This event is organized by an all volunteer committee who is always looking for an extra pair of hands.
If you would like to make a tax deductible monetary donation please make checks payable to
Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley, in the memo section please write NNO Beacon 2013.
