Beacon's future is yours - be a part of it! Attend the public meeting of the Main Street Linkage Committee on May 16, 2012.
The Beacon Main Street Linkage Committee needs input from the community about proposed changes to the city's zoning code. These changes would affect future development in two key areas of town: From Main Street at 9D down to the waterfront, and on Main Street between Digger Phelps and Teller Avenue.
BRING: Computers, servers, monitors, printers, keyboards, VCRs, cellphones, wires, power supplies, fax machines, radios, modems, telephones, TVs, copiers, scanners, DVD players, stereo equipment…nearly anything with a plug!
Please don't bring air conditioners, refrigerators, or smoke detectors - those can be recycled at Best Buy and other big box stores.
The City Council meets on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month at 7:00 pm in the Court Room of the Municipal Center.
All meetings are open to the public, with opportunities to speak at the beginning and ending of each Council meeting. On each Monday preceding the Council meetings, a workshop is held at 7:00 pm in the same location. Workshops are also open to the public for listening, while comments can be made at regular City Council meetings.

The Board of Assessment Review meets once a year to hear residents' challenges to tax assessments. Please contact the City Office for more information about submitting a challenge and meeting with the Board.

CITY-WIDE YARD SALE

Second Saturday Beacon is a city-wide celebration of the arts held on the second Saturday of every month. Many galleries and shops stay open late to feature show openings, artist receptions, music, and other special events. Sponsored and promoted by the Beacon Arts Community Association (BACA), Second Saturday is also part of the Art Along the Hudson series of monthly arts celebrations in seven Hudson Valley cities.
