“ Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time.
We are the ones we’ve been waiting for.
We are the change that we seek. ”
— President Barack Obama
The Beacon of Hope Community Fund is a charitable fund being developed by Beacon residents who have come together with the Community Foundation of Dutchess County. By working together, we can make sure that all of our neighbors are supported and our community continues to be a beautiful and thriving place to live and work.
By creating a conduit for charitable giving and volunteerism community wide we will help identify present and anticipate future needs in our community so that we may successfully and creatively move forward to continue to make our community a beacon for others to follow. The aim is to strengthen charitable organizations already in place as well as identify and support other areas where support is not currently present.
We invite every charitable organization in Beacon to partner with us.
We invite every Beaconite to become part of a positive force in the community that we love and cherish.
Our areas of focus include:
Beacon Recreation Fund – to support recreation activities for Beacon’s youth and seniors
Neighbor-to-Neighbor Fund – to provide emergency assistance for Beacon residents in need of short-term financial assistance
Clara Lou Gould Fund for the Arts – to provide support for unique exhibition, performance or public art projects, arts education programs, and arts-related community in the Greater Beacon area
General Fund – to funds for special projects and to provide general operating support for the Fund
