Assessor's Office

Please visit the NYS Office of Real Property Services website for all forms needed for exemptions or the Grievance process.

The assessor’s responsibility is to prepare a fair and equitable assessment roll. The physical description and value estimate for every property in the City of Beacon is located in the assessor’s office. The assessor administers all real property tax exemptions. All exemption forms are due by March 1.

Informal meetings regarding assement questions regarding the next year’s tax roll can take place throughout the year. The assessor’s office has continually practiced an open door policy with all City of Beacon taxpayers.

If after speaking with the Assessor you still feel that your property is unfairly assessed you may file a complaint with the Board of Assessment Review. All EA-524 complaints must be recieved by the fourth Tuesday in May.
