Beacon Sloop Club...
located on the Beacon Waterfront just across from the train station.
This 40-year-old club is dedicated to protecting and preserving the
Hudson River and the mid-Hudson Valley region. Meets the first Friday
of each month and offers free rides on the Hudson each week night at

Hiddenbrooke, Friends of
is a local nonprofit citizens group formed in 2005 to advocate the
preservation of open space in the City of Beacon and environs for public

Hudson River Valley Institute
Dr. Johnson, the Military Historian of the Hudson
River Valley, is responsible for developing the American Revolutionary
interpretive theme for the Hudson River Valley National Heritage Area.
He is completing an inventory of American Revolutionary War sites and
developing a heritage trail system that will link the most important
sites. Author of Militia, Rangers, and Redcoats (Mercer University
Press, 1992), Dr. Johnson is an expert on the War for Independence in
the Hudson Valley and the author of numerous scholarly and popular
essays and pieces on this subject. He is presently working on a study of
the Hudson Highlands in the War for Independence.

The Mid Hudson Graphic Arts Association
(a local nonprofit chapter of the National/International Association
