Dutchess County Household Waste (toxic chemicals) Information
- Now Collecting Florescent Bulbs including small household circular energy saver type. Collections are held the first Saturday of the month at the Dutchess County Resource Recovery
Agency (DCRRA) on Sand Dock Road in Poughkeepsie on July 7th, August 4th, October 6th and November 3rd. DCRRA will also host a collection day at the Cornell Cooperative Extension inMillbrook on September 1st.. Click Here for Full Details

Free Smoke Detectors for City Residents

No ATV's are authorized on Mount Beacon Reservoir or other property owned by the City of Beacon - or on surrounding privately owned property.
 

The Attractive, Clean & Safe Committee meets the first Wednesday of each month at Lewis Tompkins Hose Firehouse at 7:00 p.m. (except for the month of January). Anyone with a concern is welcome to attend - you are not required to join the Committee).


The City will be picking up bagged leaves
on your garbage day - THEY MUST BE IN
RECYCLABLE PAPER BAGS or they will not
be picked up.

The Beacon Arts Community Association (BACA), a new organization dedicated to promoting the city of Beacon as a center for the arts, has announced its plans for a "Second Saturday" celebration in Beacon. The event is a series of planned monthly celebrations -- when nearly 30 regional art galleries, stores, and restaurants have all agreed to be open simultaneously, extending their hours until 9 p.m.

The Fire Department offers a free home safety inspection
to all City residents which includes a free smoke detector
to participants. For more information, call Beacon Fire

Attention Residents
Section 135.86 of Beacon City Code requires
all garbage containers to be moved off sidewalks
and to the rear of properties except for the day of pick-up.
Please help keep our city attractive.

Compare your meter reading in basement with outside reading
device. If they differ, call 838-5003 immediately!

Dog Owners: It is a violation to keep a dog that habitually barks
annoying your neighbors. You are also required to keep your dog
on a leash and to pick up its waste. Failure to do so could result in a fine.
